2 sales of tobacco to minors in June

Community Action for Healthy Living (CAHL) conducted Wisconsin Wins tobacco compliance checks throughout the month of June across 10 counties in northeast Wisconsin, including Shawano and Oconto. These investigations are part of an ongoing effort to prevent the illegal sale of tobacco and nicotine products to minors. Retailers across the region play a vital role in protecting youths from the harms of tobacco. There were no sales to juveniles found in Oconto County out of 37 inspections, but Shawano County had two sales out of 38 businesses inspected. Retailers can receive free tobacco sales training through www.witobaccocheck.org.
