Lena High School sophomore Hunter Borchert and Gillett Secondary School senior Danny Torres were named second-team All-Marinette and Oconto Conference last week.
Borchert scored 20 or more points in five of 23 games for the Wildcats this season, including a season-high 25 points at Crivitz on Feb. 13, when he knocked down seven 3-pointers in the 81-67 loss. The sophomore also snagged a season-best 11 boards in a 50-39 win at Gillett on Jan. 23
Torres had a season-best 20 points in a 71-43 loss Feb. 19 at home against Wausaukee. The senior had 16 double-digit scoring games.
Honorable mention selections included Lena junior Nash Haney, Suring freshman Ryan Mahoney and Suring senior Josh Vollmar.
Wausaukee’s Zach Orlando and Aaron Schlies, both seniors, were honored as co-outstanding players of the year, and sophomore Justin Thill of Peshtigo was named the top defensive player.
