BOYS BASKETBALL Bonduel 56 Amherst 52 Bonduel (4-0, 1-0 Central Wisconsin-8) and Amherst (0-1, 0-1 CWC-8) were tied 41-41 entering the final period. Colton Dobratz led undefeated Bonduel with 16 points Friday. The senior made five baskets, including three from the perimeter, and also went 3-for-5 from the free-throw line. Three other Bears scored in double-figures: Trevor Pederson (14), Peyton Czarapata (11) and Hunter VanderLinden (10). VanderLinden scored six of his 10 from beyond the arc. Tyler Biadasz led the Falcons with 16 points. Garrett Groshek added 14. GIRLS BASKETBALL Witt-Birn 53 Iola-Scandinavia 42 Erika Alwes led Wittenberg-Birnamwood with 13 points and also had five rebounds in a Central Wisconsin Conference-8 victory at Iola-Scandinavia on Friday. Siri Zeinert contributed 12 points and led Wittenberg-Birnamwood (5-0, 2-0 CWC-8) with seven rebounds. Corrissa Konkol collected five rebounds and also scored eight points. Leading scorers for Iola-Scandinavia (3-3, 0-2 CWC-8) were Leighton Fischer with 19 and Brooke Phillips with 14. Menominee-Indian 51 Wild Rose 34 Menominee Indian High School (4-0, 3-0 CWC-10) remains unbeaten following a 51-34 victory against conference rival Wild Rose (2-2, 2-1 CWC-10) Friday in Keshena. The Eagles’ leading scorer was Ania Smith. with 23 points. Erin Wynos added 11 points. Leading scorers for Wild Rose were Alexa Gravunder with 11 and Johanna Shepard with 10. HOCKEY Marinette 7 Shawano 1 Shawano’s sole goal Thursday came on a shorthanded score by Brendan Cummings with 14 minutes, 5 seconds remaining in the second period in a varsity reserve loss at the Crawford Center. The Hawks were hindered by eight penalties, compared to three by Marinette.
