Hawks go 1-1 at Mosinee Tournament

Sept. 7 Mosinee Tournament Shawano 5, Mosinee 1 The Hawks opened action at the Mosinee Tournament with a 5-1 win over their hosts. Ruben De Gaspari scored two goals for Shawano. Also scoring were Warner Beyer, Grayson Swedberg and Brayden Mead. Dylan Gartner notched one assist. Communication was key for the team as they battled through some injuries for the win. Shawano 2, Northland Pines 2 Shawano battled hard against a senior-led Northland Pines squad. With a late blooper from Pines, the Hawks ended the day in a 2-2 tie. Goals were scored by Beyer and De Gaspari. Shawano’s record is 3-1-1. Pulaski 0, West De Pere 0 The Red Raiders and Phantoms played to a scoreless tie in a non-conference game. Pulaski (3-0-2) did not allow a shot on goal from West De Pere (0-3-1) but were unable to break through the Phantoms’ defense for a winner. Sam Van Price made five saves in goal for West De Pere for the shutout.
