Gresham beats Almond-Bancroft in CWC-10 final

Gresham Community High School beat Almond-Bancroft in four games (25-17, 28-30, 25-12, 25-20) Tuesday in Almond to finish up the Central Wisconsin Conference-10 volleyball tournament tournament. Brianna Stehberger had 14 kills to lead the Wildcats (3-7 CWC-10). Sydney Jensen had nine kills. Nande Carroll had 16 assists and Taylor Hoffman had nine digs. Also Tuesday, Marion (2-8) beat visiting Menominee Indian (1-9) on a tiebreaker (24-26, 25-21, 25-20, 15-25, 15-7). Lexi Brown led Marion with 12 points, three kills and nine assists. Autumn Krueger had 12 points, three kills and 13 digs. Maddy Pamperin had seven points, six kills, two blocks and 27 digs. Kate Breitrick had 11 points, 40 digs, two kills and two blocks. On Saturday, Wild Rose (7-1) and Rosholt (8-1) both hosted half of the pool-play tournament, and each took first place. Bowler (4-5) took second at Rosholt, followed by Tri-County (8-1), Almond-Bancroft (3-7) and Menominee Indian. Port Edwards (5-4) took second at Wild Rose, followed by Tigerton (5-4), Gresham and Marion. Katie Watters led Tigerton with 15 kills, 20 digs and 24 points on the day. Summer Kopitzke had 26 digs, 10 digs and 10 points. Erin Buch had 34 assists and 13 digs. Lonna Minniecheske had 10 kills, eight blocks. The final conference standings, which are determined by a point system, were not available by the Leader’s press time Tuesday.
