Gloria A. Schmidt, of Gillett, 81, died Dec. 30, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 12, 1933, to the late Elden Kohn and Lucille (Zahn) Kohn.
Gloria married her husband, Elroy Schmidt, on Nov. 14, 1953, in White Clay Lake. She spent her life focusing on her children, church and cooking. Gloria was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Gillett, where she also spent a number of years cleaning.
Survivors include her children, Keith (Merri) Schmidt, of Homestead, Florida, Mark (Sue) Schmidt, of Sylvania, Ohio, Michael (Shirley) Schmidt, of Kenosha, Randy Schmidt, of Gillett, Karie (Dale) Kuhn, of Underhill; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alan Kohn, of Virginia, and Wayne Kohn, of Gillett; and a sister, Gerry Lauersdorf, of Gillett.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy, and three brothers, Ronald Kohn, Larry Kohn and Lyle Kohn.
A private family gathering will take place.
