Gloria Mae Peters

Gloria Mae Peters, 88, of Oconto Falls, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Sharpe Care LTD, Oconto Falls. Gloria was born March 27, 1926, in Green Bay to the late Hubert and Irene (Hellman) Waldow. She married William Irvin Peters on Jan. 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1980. Gloria worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as an aid, the Commission on Aging and sold Avon for more than 25 years. She volunteered her time and served as leader for 4-H and Cub Scouts. Gloria was a member of United Methodist Church, Oconto, and the Home Makers Club. Gloria is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Allan) Switalski, Oconto Falls; four sons, William (Audrey) Peters, Pensaukee, Glenn (Alice) Peters, Pulaski, Kenneth Peters, Oconto Falls, Ronald (special friend Barbara Frank) Peters, Brookside; two sisters, Norma Erdman, Abrams, Mable Sutrick, Abrams; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Bartels, Abrams; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Bartels; a daughter-in-law, Francis Peters; and two brothers-in-law, LeRoy Erdman and Daniel Sutrick. The family received relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. Funeral services were conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Cho officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
