Gillett Public Library hosted a Bluey party on March 27 with a variety of Bluey-themed activities and snacks. “Bluey” is a popular children’s cartoon featuring an energetic Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her Mum, Dad and little sister, Bingo.
Kids of all ages were treated to a loot bag filled with finger puppets, Bluey stickers, a free book and a bag of alphabet snacks.
They could pretend to be a librarian, stamping books and reading to their friends and family. Every librarian needs a library card, so kids could decorate their own Bluey library cards.
The makerspace table was a creation station for Bluey coloring pages, as well as a place to build a robot from various crafting supplies. In a popular episode of the cartoon, Bluey builds a robot dad to clean her room.
“Keepy Uppy” was the most popular station, in which kids had to bounce balloons into the air before they could reach the ground.
After all of the activities, the library had snacks in the teen area with cupcakes, Rice Krispies Treats, granola bars, cookies and blue cupcakes.
