Twenty-one students from Gillett High School participated in the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association state event Friday and Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Students who scored a perfect 25 of 25 points received a gold medal and the Critics Choice Award included Joe Karls, Dylan Pratsch, Myranda Pratsch and Tristen Wolske in a group interpretation titled “A Good Deed Goes Wrong”; Faith Sorlie, Elizabeth Kahler, Kalea Britton and Hanna Brock in group interpretation titled “Charles”; and Tyra Tholl, Miranda Ness, Austin Smith, Mark Fischer and Leeland Kahler in a play titled “New Neighbors.”
Silver medals and the All State Award were given to students who scored 23 or 24, including Maya Breed, Brittany Fetterly, Lemirande, Jacob Timm, Zach Bierhals and Lily Schroeder.
Bronze medals and the Finalist Award were given to students who scored a 21 or 22, including Crystal Marhol, Alex Young and Kaylee Simon.
The Gillett forensics team was coached by Tami McQuillan, Stephanie Spang and Don Olderman.
