Geraldine Helen Hauk, 86, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015.
Geraldine was born on Nov. 15, 1928, in Gresham, the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Achten) Kort. On June 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Arnold F. Hauk at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.
Geraldine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Society Christian Mother’s, a Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout troop leader and a Brownie leader. Geraldine worked at Van Dyke Ceramics, North Air Sportswear and then for Dr. Gehr and Dr. Dahlie. She enjoyed playing cards in card clubs, rosemaling and painting.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Linda (Doug) Engel, of Naperville, Illinois, Steve (Luella) Hauk, of Shawano, Dan Hauk, of Randolph; grandchildren, Christopher Engel, Melissa (Kevin) Adlebush and Michele (special friend, John) Hauk; and three great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kristin and Natalie. She is further survived by her brother, Ray (Marilyn) Kort, of Birch Lake, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, in 2003; her parents; her brothers, Edgar and Roger Kort; her sisters, Nancy Melbauer and Pat Kuehn; and her granddaughter-in- law, Jennifer Engel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
