Gary Freeman, 69 (and going on 30), Pulaski, and formerly of the Krakow-Morgan area, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, as the result of a fall while loading in Chicago.
The son of Merlyn and Sybil (Walker) Freeman was born May 3, 1945, in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Green Bay and Suamico.
On Feb. 27, 1965, he married Kathy Bieda at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. The couple lived in Krakow and Morgan most of their married life. Gary owned and operated Freeman Transport, and had worked as a truck driver and farmed all his life.
Gary had a deep love for Kathy and their family. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors. If the kids or anyone needed anything, he would find a way to make it happen.
He loved his Peterbilt semi and was meticulous in its care.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy; four sons and two daughters, Scott Freeman, Sampson, Craig (Mary Ellen) Freeman, Krakow, Chris (Sean) Neeley, Oconto Falls, Cory (Renee) Freeman, Stiles, Karl Freeman, Green Bay, Kim (Josh) Velleman, Green Bay; eight grandchildren, Caden, Alex and Brady Freeman, Dr. Cassandra (Nick Torres) Marnocha, Lexie, Zoe and Evan Neeley, Raquella Freeman; Kathy’s family, Pat (Bernie) Matczak, Sandy Lex, Mike Bieda, Gary Hanson; his favorite canine companion, Sammy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frederick (Rose) Freeman; a brother-in-law, Harry Lex; and a sister-in-law, Mary Hanson.
Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20. The service will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., officiating. Burial will take place in the Laona Cemetery.
