Doris B. Anderson

Doris B. Anderson, 94, of Shawano, left her earthly life with her nephew Donald and niece Michele at her side and entered into life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 23, 2014. Doris was born Nov. 25, 1919, in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Beversdorf) Anderson. She attended the Shawano schools and graduated from Shawano High School in 1937. Following high school, Doris was employed in the office at the Shawano Paper Mill as a secretary. She retired from her duties in 1984 after 42 years of service. Doris was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano, where she was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts. Doris was a very caring person who always put others’ needs before her own. Doris is survived by two nephews, Walter Anderson, of Jackson, and Donald Anderson, of Shawano; a niece, Michele Stiemke; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Anderson; a nephew, Thomas Anderson; and a niece, Kristine Anderson, who died in infancy. Funeral services for Doris Anderson will be held on Thursday, March 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Pastor Roy Rinehard will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Relatives and friends may call at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service on Thursday after 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family has requested memorials in the name of Doris Anderson to either St. James Lutheran Church LWML or to the Friends of Hospice, c/o Shawano Medical Center.
