David C. Vander Koy

David Carl Vander Koy, 83, of Elderon, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. David was born Nov. 24, 1940, to John and Eleanor (Sinski) Vander Koy. He married the love of his life, Marelia Narloch, on June 11, 1966, at St. Florian’s Church in Hatley. David grew up in the Town of Elderon and graduated from Wittenberg High School. After high school, he served in the Army National Guard. He was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and was stationed in Washington State. After his time serving, he worked at Foremost Farms for over 32 years and retired in 1998. Together, with his wife Marelia, he operated a small dairy farm for many years. For 42 years, David served as treasurer for the Town of Elderon. David was a huge Wisconsin sports fan, always cheering for the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing and hunting with family and friends. Those who knew David will never forget his sense of humor. David is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marelia; children, Timothy (Denise) of Mosinee and Todd of Elderon; grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Bednar of Mosinee and Emily Vander Koy of Mosinee; siblings, Jack Vander Koy of Elderon, Marlene Cherek of Hatley and Sandy Falkowski of Hatley; and brother-in-law, David (Bernadine) Narloch of Hatley. David was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Charles Falkowski and Leo Cherek; and sister-in-law, Patricia Vander Koy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at St. Florian’s Catholic Church, Hatley. Fr. Jerome Patric will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military honors being conducted by Elderon Memorial Post No. 8068. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at church.
