The Wittenberg-Birnamwood Cub Scout Pack 445 will join troops from across the nation for the annual Scouting for Food event April 18.
Local troops and packs collect nonperishable food items for local food pantries.
Pack 445 will collect food for the Wittenberg Food Pantry in front of the local grocery store, Wittenberg Sentry, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The most needed items include canned vegetables, soup, canned fruit, cereal, pasta, rice, peanut butter, canned meat and dry goods.
The goal for the pack is to fill a 10-man tent that will have set up in front of the store, said Wes Hartis, assistant Cubmaster.
