Copperfest will be held Friday through Sunday at Ner-Park, on the corner of Arbutus Avenue and Madison Street, in Oconto.
Featured events will be pony rides, kids games, a street market, trout pond, petting zoo and stage appearances by comedy juggler Truly Remarkable Loon. Returning for a third year is pig racing, with races scheduled several times each day.
Music on the main stage will be performed by Crossing Paths and Black Knight Band on Friday, The Cougars, Diamond and Steel, and Johnny Wad on Saturday, and Aaron Socha LiveWire on Sunday.
The Oconto Copperfest Parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. This year’s theme is “Favorite Fairy Tale Characters.” A fireworks show will light the sky at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
Sunday’s features include an antique car and bike show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., UTL Wrestling at noon and 2:15 p.m., a hamburger eating contest at 1:15 p.m. and a copper penny find at 2 p.m. At the Beyer Home Museum, a pie and ice cream social will take place from 12-4 p.m. Sunday.
Daily gate prices for adults are $2 on Friday, $3 on Saturday and $1 on Sunday. Seniors 55 and older and kids 17 and younger are admitted for $1 every day. Wristbands, good for admission all weekend, may be purchased in advance at local businesses and at Oconto City Hall. Cost is $3 for adults and $1 for kids 17 and younger and seniors 55 and older.
The Copperfest grounds will open at 6:30 a.m. Friday for a kickoff breakfast, with the crowning of Miss Copperfest at 8 a.m. The grounds will reopen at 5 p.m. and close at 10:45 p.m. Friday.
Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to midnight. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
