UW-Whitewater Maddy Heling, from Shawano, who is studying entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was a performer in “DanceScapes ’25” under the artistic direction of Barbara Grubel, professor of theater and dance. “DanceScapes ’25” features works from UW-Whitewater student choreographers, faculty members and guest artist Joseph Ravens, a UW-Whitewater alum with a master of fine arts from Chicago’s School of the Art Institute. Ravens has presented his work throughout Asia, Europe, South America and the United States. Carthage College Claire Guenther, from Shawano, was one of 16 Carthage Model United Nations students, accompanied by Professor Jeffrey Roberg, who traveled to Singapore to attend the Nanyang Technological University Model United Nations conference over spring break from March 9-18. More than 200 delegates from 15 countries — including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China and elsewhere — were in attendance. Carthage College was the only American school that was in attendance. Model UN helps students to sharpen their “hard” and “soft” skills through research, writing, public speaking and diplomacy. In addition to helping students build and refine these skills, they also see an increase in confidence in presenting their views in a potentially stressful environment. UW-Eau Claire Isaac Garside, of Bonduel, was among the fall 2024 graduates from UW-Eau Claire. Garside received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the College of Arts and Sciences. Palmer College of Chiropractic Taylor Johnson, of Shawano, has been named to the 2024 fall trimester dean’s list at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s main campus in Davenport, Iowa.
