Clintonville will hold its Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial on South Main Street.
The event will begin with a moment of silence, followed by the church bells ringing. The message will be delivered by Master Sgt. Duane “Butch” Zabel, of Clintonville. Richard Beggs will be the master of ceremonies.
Other speakers on the program include Acting Mayor Jeannie Schley and Pastor Jill Meyer of Christ Congregational UCC Church. VFW Post 664 Commander Leroy Wilken, DAV Commander Steve Kienat, and American Legion Post 63 Commander Jim Young will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
“The Star Spangled Banner” will be performed by the Clintonville High School show choir, under the direction of Leah Armstrong. The high school band, directed by Josh Heyer, will perform the “Armed Forces Salute.” Students from Rexford-Longfellow Elementary School, directed by Katie Laubenstein, will sing “A Grateful Nation.”
The ceremony will close with a firing squad salute, balloon release and taps. Refreshments will be provided afterward by Kindred Hearts.
