Shawano tennis singles player Rachel Carroll went 2-0 and extended her season mark to 11-1 when the Hawks hosted Manitowoc and Oshkosh North in a triangular Aug. 26.
As a whole, the team did not perform as well as Carroll. Shawano was 0-2 in match play.
Oshkosh North 8, Shawano 1
Carroll won her No. 2 singles match 6-2, 6-0 over Arianna Bauer. Dropping their singles matches were Ireland Setterman, Hadley Rettke and Amelia Belter.
All five Shawano duos lost their doubles matches. They included Claire Weiland and Olivia Dobratz (one win), Lana Owens and Madison Miller (two wins), Abriella Mahkimetas-Kurkiewicz and Ava Hoffman (three wins), Harper Rettke and Caroline Bergman (one win) and Chloe Gilling and Ruby Onesti (no wins).
Manitowoc Lincoln 6, Shawano 1
Again, Carroll had the only win for Shawano, claiming 6-2, 6-0 victories over Allison Gates.
Setterman was shut out at No. 1 singles, Hadley Retake won four games at No. 3, and Jaelyn Hietpas won four games at No. 4. Weiland and Dobratz were shut out at No. 1 doubles. Miller and Owens had close contests but came up short, falling 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3, Hoffman and Mahkimetas-Kurkiewicz won two games.
