Ripon College Showcase Meet
Shawano Community High School’s boys and girls track and field teams opened their season at the Ripon College Showcase Meet.
The girls placed third with 64 points among 12 small schools and seventh overall with 36 points among 21 large and small schools.
The boys scored 40 points and placed sixth among 12 small schools.
Adalyn Barkley won the 400-meter dash in 59.09. Teammate Maci Beyer was 11th in 1:06.73.
Barkley and Beyer were joined by Bailey Hendricks and Jillian Guenther in placing second in the 4x800-meter relay in 10:23.11, just three seconds behind Neenah’s first-place finish.
Beyer placed third in the high jump at 5 feet 2 inches.
Hendricks finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run in 12:25.98. Barkley was fifth in the triple jump at 34-0.
Bailey Defere placed sixth in the shot put at 30-8.5. Madisyn Weinig was eighth at 29-11.5.
Placing 13th in the 4x400-meter relay were Barkley, Beyer, Zoe Sipple and Teagan Powers in 4:46.87.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Mya Coffey, Sipple, Izabella Tupper and Defere were 18th in 2:10.69.
For the boys, Aiden Rasmussen placed 10th in the 60-meter dash in 7.35.
Ryan Schwitzer was 10th in the pole vault at 11-0.
Franceso Curto placed 12th in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.29.
In the 4x200-meter relay, the team of Curto, Rasmussen, Nolan Kleinschmidt and Maverick Theis placed 13th in 1:39.99.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Quinten Harkey, Joshua Lesperance, Aloysius Frechette and Teagan Harkey placed 13th in 9:59.46.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Schwitzer, Nolan Kleinschmidt, Joseph Kleinschmidt and Bryce Lammers were 14th in 3:51.54.
Lammers placed 14th in the 200-meter dash in 24.74. Theis followed in 16th place in 24.88.
Chase Katchenago was 16th in the shot put at 42-9.5.
Finishing 20th in the 800-meter run was Trevor Schwartz in 2:16.04.
