Jana DeDecker and David Aschenbrener each donated one of their works to the Gresham Scholarship Fund banquet and fundraiser, scheduled for March 29 at The Woodland Supper Club and Banquet Hall in Gresham.
DeDecker, a local up-and-coming artist, is donating the “Warm Heart” painting. She works mostly with acrylics doing “pour” paintings.
“Art in many forms has bought joy to my heart,” she said.
Aschenbrener, an established bronze sculptor with a studio in the Gresham area, has been working with bronze for about 30 years. His work is scattered around the United States and beyond.
All of his work comes from ice. He begins the process by dipping ice formations into hot wax. While he has a preconceived idea as to what the final piece will look like, he is often surprised, delighted and happy with the results.
The piece he donated sells for $895. If you would like to have an Aschenbrener in your collection and cannot make the banquet, consider putting a bid in on it by calling Bob Klopke at 715-787-3386.
