The Stephenson National Bank & Trust (SNBT) recently held a reception to honor and thank nonprofit organizations for their tireless efforts and to present donations.
“We hold this event every year and are honored to gather these community stewards to share their success and give them a token of our gratitude for their tireless service,” said Daniel Peterson, SNBT president and CEO. “We appreciate their continued sacrifice and commitment which has such a positive impact on our local communities.”
At year end, SNBT made monetary donations to 39 nonprofits in Marinette, Menominee and Oconto counties. Recipients from Oconto County were St. Anthony School, Oconto Falls, Oconto Area Humane Society, Oconto Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, Oconto County Historical Society and Oconto Hospital Citizens Foundation.
“Historically we had given about 1 to 1.5 percent of our net income, however last year we increased that contribution to 2 percent, realizing that charitable organizations need funds now more than ever,” Peterson said.
SNBT donated $100,000 in community contributions.
“At SNBT, we want to share our success with the communities in which we do business,” he added.
The arrival of the New Year officially kicked off “My Bank for Good,” a theme that captures the essence of SNBT as a community partner. Its message is three-fold: charitable donations and staff volunteerism, longevity in the community and full-service banking.
SNBT is a 140-year old independent community bank with an office in Oconto.
