3 games and 3 shutouts for the Ice Bears

The Bay Area Ice Bears hosted three teams over the past weekend and shut out each team at the Cornerstone Community Center in Ashwaubenon. The Ice Bears will host Gentry Academy at 7 p.m. Jan. 3. Dec. 28 Bay Area 4, Eau Claire Area 0 Abby Mommaerts opened the scoring with two goals in the first four minutes of the second period. Aisling Buchan added another for a 3-0 lead. Hannah Von Haden scored once in the third period for the final tally. Assists were credited to Buchan, Elizabeth Zunker, Von Haden, Emily Bill, Faye Brunke and Briana Anundsen. The Stars were penalized twice for four minutes, while the Ice Bears were called for five infractions for 10 minutes. Reese Spiering had 18 saves for the Ice Bears, while Amy Thul had 27 for the Stars. Dec. 27 Bay Area 7, Warbirds 0 The Ice Bears had 27 shots on goal compared to nine for the Warbirds in the 7-0 shutout. Scoring in the first period were Tiana Stindt, Faye Brunke and Aisling Buchan. Buchan scored a second time in the second period, and Hannah Von Haden made the score 5-0. In the final period, Brunke scored again, and Emily Bill closed out the scoring with a goal at 4:44. Stindt had three assists in the game, Bill, Von Haden and Brunke had two each, and one each went to Julianne Bradford and Addison Dahl. Each team was penalized four times for eight minutes. Reese Spiering had nine saves for the Ice Bears. Bay Area 10, Rock County 0 The goals were fast and furious with the Ice Bears running up a 10-0 shutout of Rock County to open weekend action. The Ice Bears ended the game with 39 shots on goal compared to seven for the Rock County Fury. Reese Spiering had one save for Bay Area, with Kade Kitchenmaster getting six. Aisling Buchan completed a hat trick with two goals in the first period and the last in the third. Faye Brunke and Claire Gerarden each had two goals. Scoring once each were Rachael Beeck, Emily Bill and Jordyn Clarke. Elizabeth Zunker had three assists. Getting two each were Addison Dahl, Bill, Addison Gady, Briana Anundsen and Olympia Simons. Tiana Stindt, Ava McDonald, Gerarden, Abby Mommaerts, Hannah Von Haden and Brunke each had one. The Ice Bears were penalized three times for six minutes, while the Fury had a penalty-free game.
