As 2025 winds down and a new year beckons, it’s a good time to reflect on your own successes and missteps both in the outdoors and in life.

The annual Christmas cantata at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett is titled “A Child is Born … All is Well.”

An ecumenical choir of more than 25 performers will present this Christmas musical twice before Christmas and twice following Christmas at St. John’s, 101 W. Main St., Gillett. While there is substantial road construction on Highway 22 through Gillett, there is always access to the church property.

Taylor Johnson, of Shawano, has been named to the 2025 summer trimester dean’s list at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s main campus in Davenport, Iowa.

Stephanie Abts was selected Dec. 7 as the winner of Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer and Agriculturists Farming for the Future Award at the organization’s 106th annual meeting.

This past October, our daughter got married, which naturally changed the dynamics of our immediate family — we stretched to extend love to another son. He is a wonderful young man, tenderly devoted to Jesus and our daughter.
