Lena’s Mason Belongia is the golfer of the year for 2025 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference. Joining him on the all-conference first team were teammates Copper Demmith and Mason Spice. Tanner Behnke and Vance Turecek were named to the second team. Lena was also the conference champion. In baseball, senior Tyler Shallow was the conference player of the year.
Lena golfer takes 13th, Pulaski golfer is 17th at state
Lena’s Mason Belongia, who qualified for the state golf meet as an individual, finished the two-day event in a three-way tie for 13th place among Division 3 golfers. The WIAA boys championship was held June 9-10 at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, near Madison. On the par-72 course, Belongia finished the first day with an 82, 10 strokes over pa and tied for 13th.

Four inducted into speedway hall of fame
On a night where four racers were inducted into the Shawano Speedway Hall of Fame, Seymour’s Tim Jorgenson made the biggest move to the checkered flag, starting in 10th place in the sport modifieds. It was Jorgenseon’s first feature win of the season after 10 starts on the circuit.
