Nancy J. Wirtz

Nancy J. Wirtz, 72, Oconto Falls, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Monday, July 13, 2026, at St. Mary Hospital, Green Bay. The daughter of Joseph and Genevieve (Brusky) Sinclair was born July 8, 1954, in Green Bay.

Nancy graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1972. On Nov. 8, 1997, she married Eugene Wirtz at Assumption BVM Church in Pulaski.

Francis ‘Ric’ Steffeck

Francis Richard ‘Ric’ Steffeck, 79, of Mayville, passed away unexpectedly July 11, 2026, while camping on his property on the farm he grew up on near Spruce.

Michael D. Ekern

Michael D. Ekern, 79, of Eland, died Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston.

Mike was born May 25, 1947, in Rice Lake, the son of Duane and Mary (Reckenthaler) Ekern.

Mike was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1968-70. Mike was a proud veteran and was able to go on the Honor Flight in 2025 with his son, Scott.

On Sept. 30, 1978, Mike was united in marriage to Katie Verkuilen.

JoAnn Myra Dams

JoAnn Myra Dams, of Oconto Falls, died peacefully Monday, July 6, 2026, in Oconto Falls at the age of 90.

She was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Manawa to Alfred and Myra (Lehman) Bozile. She grew up in Merriman, Michigan, the middle child of seven brothers and sisters. She and Irving Dams raised six children together.

Douglas McMahon

Douglas Allen McMahon, 84, of Suring, died Friday, July 3, 2026, at Evergreen Health Services, Shawano.

Born on Feb. 7, 1942, to Clarence and Lola (nee Hodgins) McMahon of Gillett, Doug first attended Spring Hill School in the Town of Gillett. He graduated from Gillett High School in 1960.

Ramona T. Hanson, 94, of Wittenberg, passed away peacefully June 29, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center-Weston.

Donald ‘Don’ Schultz

Donald A. “Don” Schultz, 89, of Shawano, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on April 1, 1937, in Shawano, Don is the son of the late Alfred and Barbara (Stempa) Schultz. He grew up on the family farm in the Town of Herman, Shawano County.
