David K. Raether

David “Dave” K. Raether, 74, of Marion and Waupaca, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, in his daughter’s arms, wife and son by his side. Thursday he was diagnosed with advanced pulmonary fibrosis at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. Family and close friends expressed their love and gratitude in those few precious days. Dave, in true character, never lost his sense of humor.

William A. Ehlers

William A. Ehlers, 86, of Townsend, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.

William was born June 10, 1939, to the late Allan and Madge (Wheeler) Ehlers. He married Carmen Retrum on Nov. 10, 1962. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2022.

Bernadine (Eschner) Kappes
Known to many as Nitzie, Bernadine Kappes passed away on July 26, 2025. She was 95 years old and was born to Ben and Anna Eschner in Gillett on Dec. 6, 1929. She grew up during the era of the Great Depression and World War II. While living in and around Gillett, she attended Gillett High School. She was active in the band and was the drum majorette. Because many men were away to the war, she worked on the farms with her father.
Jane L. Schenkoski
Jane L. Schenkoski, 77, of Gillett, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 28, 2025, surrounded by family. Jane was born Nov. 23, 1947, in Oconto Falls to the late Olaf and Louise (Wendt) Pederson. She graduated from Bonduel High School in 1965. After high school, Jane worked at Pulaski Shoe Factory for several years. She later worked at two bakeries, which she loved, and as a waitress at Club 32 for 21½ years.
