County starting foreclosures on 5 properties

Members of the Shawano County Public Property Committee voted Feb. 12 to begin the process of foreclosing on five parcels after owners refusal to pay back taxes and special assessments.

There are two lots on Ebert Street in Gresham, one on Red Lake Court in Gresham, one on Fourth Street in Mattoon and one on Mission Street in Wittenberg.

Rec center soliciting art, planning tours

The recreated Shawano Recreation Center is still months from being open to the public, but plans are in the works to give the community a chance to contribute to its beauty. Interested residents can also take a sneak peek at what’s been completed so far in the year-long project that started in June 2025.

Highway 141 construction advanced to 2027 in Marinette and Oconto counties

Construction on the U.S. Highway 141 resurfacing and culvert replacement project in Marinette and Oconto counties has been moved up to 2027 instead of the previously planned 2028 construction year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

New Highway 22 website details proposed highway improvements in Oconto County

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region is soliciting comments for proposed improvements on 4.2 miles of state Highway 22 from East Highland Drive in Oconto Falls east to near U.S. Highway 141 in Oconto County.

Highway 141 frost heave project advanced to 2027 in Marinette and Oconto counties

Construction on a U.S. Highway 141 frost heave mitigation project in Marinette and Oconto counties has been accelerated, with work now scheduled to begin in 2027 instead of the previously planned 2028 construction year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
