Plenty of shoppers going into Wittenberg Sentry bought plenty of food April 18, but a lot of it didn’t go home with them.
Instead, many of the shoppers gave some of the food they purchased to Wittenberg Cub Scouts Pack 445, and that food immediately went into the tent with the intention of donating it to the Wittenberg Food Pantry to help those in need.
Stephanie Nault has been named the new Area 8 director for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension.
She replaces Mandi Dornfeld, who resigned at the start of the year to accept a new job in the Fox Valley.
Nault will supervise the UW-Extension offices in Shawano, Menominee, Oconto and Marinette counties. She will work out of the Oconto office but will regularly travel to the other counties.
A Shawano man found guilty of cocaine charges received a time-served sentence April 15 in federal court due to his serious health issues and other pending criminal cases in Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court.
Summer hours at the Shawano County Courthouse will go into effect May 4, after the county’s executive committee approved a proposal at its April 15 meeting.
From May 4 through Sept. 20, the courthouse will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7-11 a.m. Friday.
