Yvonne Dorothy (Ringel) Miller, 85, of Gresham, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, in Shawano. She was born on Sept. 23, 1937, to the late Fred and Louise (Viergutz) Ringel in Shawano. Yvonne was a graduate of Shawano High School. She married her sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Miller on June 13, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hermansfort. During their 60-year marriage, they were blessed with three daughters and a son.
Yvonne worked as a telephone operator, as well as at the Boston Store in Milwaukee when she was younger, followed by the Gresham co-op when she and Bob moved to the area in 1972. Yvonne was most well known as a lunch lady for the Gresham School District. She enjoyed many hobbies such as bird watching, doing puzzles, sudoku, playing cards and dancing, especially the polka. Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes and she was proudest of her phlox she planted around their home.
She is survived by her three daughters, Pam Miller, Trish (Reid Watters) Miller and Renee Miller; three grandchildren, who called her Grandma Bru, Devon (Gretchen) Miller, Kierston Miller and Brendan (Melena) Price; five great-grandchildren, Kaidyen, Kailyanna, Jackson, Deklyn and Max; daughter-in-law, Theresa Miller; her sister, Marilyn; brother-in-law, Keith; and lifelong friend, Dolly Pleshek. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Brian “Smilie” Miller; her parents; and brothers and sisters, Russ, Victor, Dorie, Phyllis and Margie.
Per her request, no funeral services will be held. Burial will take place in the Red Springs Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
