A woman was taken into custody on drug charges Friday after Shawano County authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on Lake Drive in the town of Wescott.
The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation of drug activity in the area, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department, and followed an extensive investigation that drug activity was likely occurring at the residence.
A 55-year-old Wescott woman was taken into custody on charges alleging possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges against other individuals may be forthcoming as the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Department said.
“This operation is the latest in a series of investigations focusing on the use and sale of controlled substances in Shawano County,” said Capt. Tom Tuma.
No other information was being released Friday afternoon.
