Wayne O. “Lil Orv” Bistoff, 59, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, 2015, at home.
Wayne was born March 6, 1956, in Shawano, a son of the late Orvin and Gloria (Norton) Bistoff. He attended the Shawano schools. He then entered the United States Navy. Upon returning from service, he worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator and as a truck driver.
He was an avid sportsman, enjoying both fishing and hunting. He was a true Wisconsin sports fan, enjoying the Bucks, Brewers, Badgers and Packers. Wayne also enjoyed his pool league and playing poker.
Survivors include his son, Jeremy Bistoff, of Shawano; a brother, Kevin (Sandy) Bistoff, of Shawano; two sisters, Linda (Jerry Biertzer) Sherman, of Mountain, and Lorie (Dennis) Fickel, of Appleton; four nieces, Britney (Joshua) Smith, Jody (Art) Ward, Tanya Sherman and Shelby Bistoff; two nephews, Brandon (Lisa) Fickel and Kory Bistoff; his former wife, Angie (Frank Wallace) Bistoff, of Shawano; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service for Wayne will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. The Rev. Luke Ferris, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by Shawano AMVETS Post 10 at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in his name.
