Tigerton to host annual Lumberjack Days

The 59th annual Lumberjack Days will be held Aug. 22-24 in Tigerton Community Park.

There will be food and refreshments available for purchase all weekend long. Bucket raffle tickets will be sold both days, with drawings at 5 p.m. Aug. 24.

All proceeds from this popular event go to support the Tigerton community through the Tigerton Advancement Association and the Tigerton American Legion Post 239.

Kicking off the event will be a bean bag tournament at 6 p.m. Aug. 22. Mixed couple teams that want to participate in this 100% payback tournament need to register by Aug. 19 with Breitenfeldt. The cost is $30.

The kids’ Hot Wheel races start at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22.

On Aug. 23, there will be another bean bag tournament, this one is open doubles for $30 per team with 100% payback.

The corn roast is free and features roasted and broiled corn starting at 2 p.m.

Register at 1:30 p.m. to show off your physical prowess in the Northwoods Preferred Angus Strongman/Woman Contest at 2 p.m.

There will be plenty of children’s activities throughout the day. The kids’ bike giveaway is free for children 12 and younger. Tickets will be available at 2:30 p.m. with drawings at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Donations for this event will be accepted at Premier Community Bank.

Providing live music from 2 -5 p.m will be the band Blast From The Past. Finishing off the day will be Night Shift, performing from 6-10 p.m.

In between the bands, around 5:30 p.m. will be the crowning of the Lumberjack Princess.

Start Aug. 24 with the parade at 1 p.m. To be included in the parade, participants need to call Anita Kostuch at 920-883-6077.

The Lumberjack Contest is at 2 p.m. and features three antique saw classes.

Along with children’s activities, there will be the touch-a-truck event with police, fire trucks, ambulance, semis and stock cars on display.

The Drovers will perform their live music from 2-6 p.m.

At 6 p.m. there will be the $1,000 prize raffle drawing. You need not be present to win this drawing or any of the bucket raffles.
