Thomas L. Harke

Thomas L. Harke, 68, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, at his home. Thomas was born on March 19, 1953, in Clintonville as the son of the late Erich and Hazel (Koeller) Harke. Although Thomas had some physical disabilities in his life, he was able to pack a lot into his 68 years. As a young man, he lived with his parents, then with his brother, Don, and for the past 20-some years up in Shawano. Thomas took bus trips almost annually with Able Trek Tours and enjoyed outings with the Red River Riders. He worked for many years at Lakeland Industries in Shawano, where he did a number of different tasks. Thomas was a huge sports fan and rarely missed a Brewers or Packers game. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years, watching game shows and fishing on tv, anything trains, collecting calendars, and going out for a good fish fry, steak, or Cinder’s burger. He had a strong faith in his Lord and is now reunited with many of his family members whom he missed very much. Survivors include his brother, Donald Harke, and sister-in-law, Carol Harke. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Richard; and a sister-in-law, Joan Harke. Thomas’ funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Jason Zobel officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Embarrass. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
