Bay Conference Tournament
Tristan Tetting and Isaac Welander took second place in No. 2 doubles to lead the Shawano tennis team at the Bay Conference Tournament in West De Pere.
The duo began by defeating Green Bay East 6-0, 6-0, followed by a win over West De Pere 6-3, 6-3. They lost the title match 6-1, 6-3 to Sean Utrie and Joel Pfaff of Xavier.
At No. 1 doubles, George Buerman and Tristan Sheldon placed third.
A 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Green Bay East was followed by a 1-6, 6-4, 10-8 loss to West De Pere. For the third-place finish, the duo beat Caleb Harth and Evan Credy of Menasha 6-2, 6-1.
The No. 3 doubles team of Mason Sparks and Dominic Badalamenti placed fourth.
Sparks and Badalamenti won 6-2, 6-4 over Fox Valley Lutheran, lost 6-1, 6-0 to Xavier and then lost 7-5, 6-2 to Menasha.
All four singles players placed fifth.
Andrew VanDenHeuvel lost first to West De Pere, then defeated Green Bay East and Green Bay West.
Ben Langlois initially lost to Fox Valley Lutheran, had a bye in the second round and then defeated Green Bay West in his final match.
Isaiah Becker of Green Bay West defeated Cristian Hernandez in the round. Hernandez had a bye in round two, then defeated Fox Valley Lutheran.
At No. 4 singles, Ryan Buerman was defeated by Menasha before winning against Green Bay East and Fox Valley Lutheran.
De Pere 6, Pulaski 1
Aran Capella defeated Devin Guns 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 at No. 3 singles to earn the only victory for Pulaski.
At No. 1 singles, Justin Freadrich lost 6-3, 6-1. Ryan Symons was defeated 7-5, 6-1, and Donovan Holderness lost 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles action, Jeffrey Sanders and Henry Piczkowski lost 6-0, 6-1; Nathan Maroszek and Oscar Delmarcelle were defeated 6-2, 6-1; and Jonah Drevs and William Gosse lost 6-1, 6-0.
