ST Paper gives $15K to fire department

ST Paper of Oconto Falls recently donated $15,000 to the Oconto Falls Fire Department. Fire Chief Tim Magnin announced the donation Sept. 8 at the City Council meeting. “The money will go toward the purchase of air bags and struts,” Magnin said. Air bags are used to lift a vehicle to free trapped victims in rescue situations or in other instances in which objects need to be moved. The air bags are positioned and then slowly inflated. Struts are used for extra stabilization for rescue equipment, Magnin explained. “ST Paper is fantastic,” Alderman Jay Kostreva said. “I don’t know how to thank those people.” City Administrator Vicki Roberts agreed. “They pay attention,” she said. “They read the paper and see where the needs are.” Magnin said money left over from the purchase of air bags and struts will be used for training.
