The average price received by farmers for corn during January 2024 in Wisconsin was $4.45 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service-Agricultural Prices report.
This was 5 cents below the December price and $1.75 below January 2023.
The January 2024 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $12.60 per bushel, was 40 cents below the December price and $1.50 below the January 2023 price.
The January average oat price per bushel, at $4.16, was 90 cents above December but 39 cents below January 2023.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $191 per ton in January. This was $12 above the December price and $34 above the January 2023 price. The January 2024 alfalfa hay price, at $199, was $12 above the previous month and $36 above January 2023. The average price received for other hay during January was $154 per ton. This was $6 above the December price and $38 above January last year.
The Wisconsin all milk price for January 2024 was $18 per hundredweight (cwt). This was $1 below last month’s price and $4 below last January’s price.
The U.S. all milk price for January was $20.10 per cwt, $2.10 higher than Wisconsin’s price but 50 cents lower than last month’s U.S. price.
