Shawano’s female wrestlers placed third at the Shiocton Invite on Jan. 4, finishing just 11 points out of first place.
“I like the effort that I’m seeing,” coach Mike Homan said. “We just need to keep working to get better.”
Gwyn Hermann took second place at 107. Adalyn Barkley also took second place at 145.
“She (Barkley) wrestled well also and really put herself in good positions,” Homan said. “Her offense continues to improve, and she wrestled out of some tough spots on Saturday. She does a great job in the practice room, and it shows during competitions. She is consistent and continues to improve each week.”
Vivian Waldburger placed fourth, Ayanna O’Kimosh and Jenna Moede each placed fifth.
