Shawano, Antigo each beat Spooner

Jan. 4 Northwest Icemen 3, Shawano/Bonduel 1 Trailing 1-0 after the first period, Shawano/Bonduel evened the score on a Max Huntington goal at 1:33 in the third period. However, the Icemen scored twice in the third period to take the 3-1 win. Tyson Lyons recorded 25 saves for Shawano/Bonduel, which took 34 shots on goal. Antigo 4, Spooner 2 Eli Kassler completed a hat trick and Owen Dickman notched the last goal of the game as Antigo scored three goals in the third period to beat Spooner 4-2. Spooner took a 1-0 first period lead only to have Kassler score at 1:17 in the second period to tie the game. Spooner scored again toward the end of the period to take a 2-1 lead. Dickman and Ethan Novy each had two assists, and Alex Brittenham had one. Antigo had 40 shots on goal, with Richie Veriha getting 36 saves for the Red Robins. Jan. 3 Shawano/Bonduel 6, Spooner 2 Gavin Hundt recorded a hat trick as Shawano/Bonduel jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Spooner managed to find the back of the net. Hundt scored the team’s first and third goals in the first period, with Teagan Harkey scoring one in between. In the second period, goals were notched by Blake Knope, Harkey and Hundt. Kaiden Thornborrow had 25 saves, and Shawano/Bonduel had 34 shots on goal. Jan. 2 Antigo 10, Pacelli 4 Eli Kassler scored a hat trick in the first period, and Antigo never looked back as the Red Robins beat Pacelli 10-4. Kassler ended the night with five goals, and teammate Owen Dickman added four more. Liam Burt had the other goal for Antigo. Down 3-0, Pacelli fought back with one goal in the first period and two more in the second to tie the game at 3-3. But then, Antigo scored four goals in the second period and three more consecutive goals in the third for seven in a row and a 10-3 lead. Pacelli scored its final goal at 12:47 in the third stanza. Antigo had 42 shots on goal. Richie Veriha collected 34 saves.
