After being rained out the previous two weeks, cars were welcomed back to the Shawano Speedway on June 21 for a hot night of racing – that is, action on the track and sweltering, muggy weather.
Clintonville’s Lucas Lamberies won the 20-lap feature race for the modifieds after staring in fifth place. He topped New London’s Tanner Janke and Wausau’s Marcus Yarie.
Marion’s Adam Abbey won the first heat, and Lamberies won the second.
In the sport modifieds, Pulaski’s Cole Slezewski won the 20-lap feature after starting on the pole. He defeated Forrest Kernen and Tigerton’s Dustin Wudstruck.
Slezewski won the first heat, and Shawano’s Michael Springborn won the second heat.
Mosinee’s Andy Karl won the two-car late model race, with Shawano’s Tommy Rindt in second. Karl also won the heat race.
Jeremy Christians, of Horicon, moved up from sixth to take the checkered flag in the 25-lap stock car feature. He topped Travis VanStraten, of Hortonville, and Trent Nolan, of Shawano.
Embarrass’ Nate Michonski won the 12-lap B feature, with Oconto Falls’ Kyle Frederick in second and Shiocton’s Vern Stedjee in third.
Pulaski’s Devin Snellenberger won the first heat, Yarie won the second race, Wisconsin Rapids’ Mark Eswein won the third, and VanStraten won the fourth heat.
In the Mighty 4’s, Shawano’s Scott Blanke won the 12-lap feature race, with Shawano’s Dalton Nelson in second and Shawano’s Taylor Junk in third.
Nelson won the the first heat race, and Shawano’s Andrew Yaeger captured the flag in the second heat.
Seymour’s Jacob Ambrosious won the 20-lap street stocks feature race, winning over Austin Steinke, of St. Nazanz, and Paul Ambrosious, of Seymour.
Paul Ambrosious won the heat race.
