School district seeks to fill board vacancy

The Shawano School District is accepting applications for a vacancy on the Shawano School Board. Applicants must be residents of Area III, which is the Town of Wescott and the portion of the Town of Washington in the Shawano district, 18 years of age or older and a U.S. citizen. The appointment will be through the April 2025 spring election, at which time the successor can be elected for the remainder of the term, April 2026. The vacancy is due to a lack of candidates in the spring election. There are two seats on the nine-member board representing Area III. One seat is occupied by Mike Musolff. Interested people must file a declaration of interest with Lori Sherman no later than 3:30 p.m. May 24 at the district office, 218 County Road B, Shawano. Filing forms can be acquired from the district office between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. weekdays. The board may interview applicants. If the decision is made to interview, this will be in an open session during a school board meeting.
