Russell A. Stoehr

Russell “Buck” Anthony Stoehr, 94, Gresham, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021. He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Gresham to the late Matthew and Anna (Gottschalk) Stoehr. He attended Gresham High School. On Feb. 28, 1952, he married Geneva Straley. Buck served his country in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of corporal from 1945 until 1947. Buck farmed throughout his adult years, and after retirement had a beef farm as a hobby. He enjoyed deer hunting, watching the Packers, and playing baseball with the Gresham team. Buck was a member of the Lions Club and St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, where he belonged to the men’s club. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Jack Kiefer) O’Keefe; granddaughter, Heather Schoff; grandson Ryan (Jazmine) Heilman; great-grandchildren, Clayton Schoff, Hailey Schoff, Ella Heilmann and Jaidyn Steinfeldt; and his sister Connie Kuckuk. Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva; his parents, Matt and Ann Stoehr; and sisters, Myra Ebert, Audrey Stoehr, and Janice Lemke. Friends may visit after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, 724 Mader St., Gresham, until the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM with the Rev. Nonito Baras officiating burial at the parish cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere is assisting the family.
