Roger W. Behringer

Roger W. Behringer, 83, of Kelly Brook, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at his daughter’s home with his loving family by his side. He was born to the late Grover and Jessie (Hammill) Behringer on July 9, 1932, in the town of Spruce. Roger graduated from Oconto Falls High School, where he enjoyed playing football. He married Marylou Christensen on Sept. 2, 1951. Roger worked on the family farm in Kelly Brook for many years and took it over in 1960. While farming, he built silos for LaFortune, worked interstate road construction, was a mason tender for DeCoster Construction and loved working in the woods. Roger enjoyed his beer and the banter at the local bars. Surviving are five children, Roger Lee (Carmen), Darlene Wolf, Rosemary (Marty) Warden, Bryan (Annette) and Beverly Jo Behringer; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; two nephews, John and Jim Panetti; and lifetime friends Leonard and Sis Magee. Roger was preceded in death by one son, Daniel, and one sister, Carol Panetti. The family greeted relatives and friends Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 438 W. Main St., Lena, and Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Hickory Church of Christ, 8892 County Road G, Suring, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Tappa officiating.
