Robert A. “Bob” Jacobs, 70, of Bowler, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at a local nursing home. Born on March 20, 1943, in Milwaukee, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Anna (Welch) Jacobs. Bob was raised and attended school in the Milwaukee area. On Nov. 1, 1960, he enlisted with the United States Air Force and served his country for two years. On May 5, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dianne Wolske in Milwaukee, and in 1977 the couple moved to the Bowler area. Bob was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness and the Mohican Veterans. Bob is survived by his daughter, Dawn Jacobs, of Bowler; his son, Patrick Jacobs, of Bowler; four grandchildren, Ashlyn, Natalee, Emma and Jaxon; and two sisters, Dora and Karen. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne, on July 3, 2012; a stepson, Scott; his parents; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Lutheran Church of the Wilderness, Bowler, with the Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating. Burial will be in the Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds with military rites conducted by Gresham American Legion Post 390 and the Mohican Veterans. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
