Richard L. Koeller, 73, of Shawano, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Birch Hill Care Center in Shawano, following a lengthy illness.
Richard was born Sept. 19, 1940, in Shawano, a son of the late Walter and Lydia (Buhrandt) Koeller.
He attended the Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano High School. On Jan. 17, 1958, he entered the United States Army, serving his country until Jan. 16, 1961.
Upon returning from service, he went to banking school and later worked in Green Bay in the real estate field for many years. Richard also owned and operated R and R Lanes in Shawano for five years. He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stony Hill. Richard was an avid bowler.
He is survived by two sons, Greg Koeller and Michael Koeller; his former wife and caregiver, Rhonda Koeller, of Shawano; his stepmother, Alice Koeller, of Shawano; two sisters, Dorothy Dehn, of Mishicot, and Dorothy (Robert) Breitrick, of Tigerton; a stepsister, Rosemary (Floyd) Petrich, of Gresham; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service.
