Richard Carroll

Richard Carroll, 76, Oconto Falls, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at home. He was born Jan. 12, 1945, in Cornell, Wisconsin, to Russell and Bertha (Bostedt) Carroll. Richard grew up in Cornell where he graduated high school and went on to attend college. He entered the U.S. Navy where he served for four years and, following his honorable discharge, attended UW-Stevens Point, graduating with a degree in elementary education. On July 8, 1972, he married Bonnie Carroll in Greenville. The couple moved with their young family to Oconto Falls in 1976, where Richard was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post #302 in Oconto Falls. Survivors are his two children, Jonathon (Dana) Carroll, Lena; Jennifer (John) Ruprecht, Green Bay; five grandchildren, Colt, Korbin and Maiyah Carroll, Benjamin and Blake Ruprecht; two brothers, Ray (Shirley) and Jerry (Sue) Carroll; one sister, Sandy (Ray) Brenner; one sister-in-law, Carol Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roger and Bill Carroll. Visitation with the urn present will take place after 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at Jones Funeral Service until the time of service. Funeral services will be held noon Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Olson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
