Richard N. Brodhagen, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 29, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
He was born on July 7, 1940, in Shawano to the late Norman and Ethel Brodhagen. He grew up on the family farm in Bonduel with his four sisters: Carol (Walt) Bestul, Ginny (Mike) Jesse, Mary (Jim) Egen and Chris (Dick) Klemens.
On Oct. 1, 1983, he married his wife of 32 years, Dorothy. Together they lived a life of faith so when the Lord called, he was ready.
Dick liked to meet new people so his lifelong career as an insurance agent and most recent paper route allowed him the opportunity to meet many new people, some of whom became lifelong friends. His “socializing” made him late for many occasions.
He enjoying spending time at their camper in Tomahawk fishing and puttering around, He found great inspiration in attending Christian faith conferences and applied what he learned to his daily life. Often you would find him napping in the chair with his faithful companions Sadie and Teddy.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, and their children: Sue (Wayne) Passow, Sandy (Brent) Raben, Dan (Carrie) Brodhagen, David (Renee) Brodhagen, Sheri Denluck, Doug (Michelle) Degner, Deanna (Jim) Merickel, and Dan (Radica Behnke) Degner; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; sister, Carol; infant son, James; and faithful companion Rusty.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Believers/Center City Church, 2209 W. Spencer St., Marshfield. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Mid-Wisconsin Cremations Society is assisting the family.
