Prevea Health launches hospitalist program

Prevea Health announced the launch of a hospitalist program at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital. It includes seven new physicians, referred to as hospitalists, available to serve hospitalized patients. A hospitalist is a provider whose sole responsibility is to take care of patients in the hospital. The providers do not work in a clinic setting or have outpatient office hours like most primary care providers. Hospitalists coordinate patients’ admission into the hospital, manage their care and treatment, and contact any subspecialist providers (cardiologists, gastroenterologists, etc.) patients need during their hospital stay. As hospitalists care for patients in the hospital, they are also working with the patients’ primary care provider, including discussions about what should be done once patients are discharged from the hospital. The new Prevea Health hospitalists at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital include Drs. Tanya Lechtev, Shefiu Lanre Shittu, Frederick Abrokwah, Emmanuel Odeyemi, Olusolape Adegbehingbe, Moshood Lawal and Okechukwu Kanu For information about hospitalist services provided by Prevea Health, visit www.prevea.com/Medical-Services/Hospital-Services.
