Hawks defeat Truckers in soccer
The Shawano Community High School boys soccer team earned a 5-1 win over Clintonville in a nonconference match Friday in Shawano.
Chancellor VanDyck scored four goals for Shawano (9-2-1, 5-1 Bay). Garret Schlise had a goal and three assists.
Stanley Bayless had four saves tending the Hawks’ goal.
Chargers fall to Iola-Scandinavia
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School football team lost 54-12 to Iola-Scandinavia in a Central Wisconsin Conference-8 game Friday in Wittenberg.
Brian Szutkowski led Wittenberg-Birnamwood (1-5, 0-4 CWC-8) with 94 yards rushing on 11 carries. Sam Szews was four of seven passing for nine yards.
Nick Wavruk led Iola-Scandinavia (5-1, 3-1 CWC-8) with 124 yards on 10 carries.
Truckers dominated by Waupaca
The Clintonville High School football team lost 53-0 to Waupaca in a Eastern Valley Conference game Friday in Waupaca.

Wild Rose sweeps Gresham
The Gresham High School volleyball team was swept Thursday by Wild Rose.
Gresham (1-4) lost 25-10, 25-15, 26-24.
Tylena Bohl had six aces and nine points for Gresham. Nande Carroll had seven points. Brittny Andrews had nine assists.
Wildcats fall to Pacelli
The Bowler/Gresham high school boys soccer team lost to Stevens Point Pacelli 1-0 Thursday in Gresham.
Pacelli scored the match’s only goal with eight minutes left.
Neil Cerveny had nine saves tending goal for Gresham/Bowler (8-5).
