Penny J. Hujet

Penny J. Hujet, 58, of Lena, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay with family by her side. She was born Oct. 31, 1964, to the late Roger and Audrey (Frye) Carriveau. Penny graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the Class of 1982. Penny served in the United States Air Force from 1986 until 1988. She worked as a personal care giver for most of her life, taking care of the developmentally disabled. She enjoyed spending time with her friend, Charlie. Penny loved spending time with her daughters. She liked baking and cooking with them and made them each their own recipe books. Penny also enjoyed playing Phase 10 with her daughters. She loved playing games on her iPad, especially Coin Master. Penny was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Disabled American Veterans. Penny is survived by her three daughters, Kayla Carriveau, Faith (Chazz) Hujet and Hope Hujet; two brothers, Michael (Stephanie) Carriveau and Jeff (Patti) Carriveau; a sister, Sue (Brian) Vandenbush; and a grandson, Alex. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Grace Hujet; brother, Larry Carriveau; nephew, Joey Koebach; dear friend, Missy Krajewski. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Stiles from noon until the Mass of Christian burial at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Walter Stumpf officiating. Military honors will follow the service. Penny will be interred at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Lena in the spring. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
