Patricia Kools Harvey passed away peacefully in her Tampa, Florida, home on Aug. 26, 2015, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Born in Kimberly in 1929, Pat graduated from Kimberly High School and married John Kools, of Appleton, where they raised their children. After her children were grown, she worked for elderly services in both Shawano and Waupaca counties, impacting countless retirees. In 1981, she married Thomas Harvey, and together they spent many wonderful years. Tom preceded her in death Aug. 18, 1999. After Tom’s death, she moved back to Appleton, where she found comfort among family and friends. She devoted her time volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospital, St. Francis Xavier Catholic School student exchange program and the American Cancer Society.
Pat is survived by her children, Judith (J. Douglas) Gregory, Tampa, Florida, Jane (David) Blake, York, Pennsylvania, Kevin (Carolyn) Kools, Murphy, North Carolina, Dr. Joseph Kools, Tampa, Florida, Don (Weece) Harvey, Mequon, John T. (Al Burgermeister) Harvey, Panama City, Florida, Linda (Jerry) Nantell, Indio, California, Scott (Toni) Harvey, Stillwater, Minnesota, Kathy (Ray) Grant, Mankato, Minnesota, and Rod (Lauren) Harvey, Willowbrook, Illinois; and daughter-in-law, Lori Kools, Tampa, Florida.
Additional surviving family members include her sister, Theresa Livermore, Englewood, Ohio; brothers, Dr. Francis X. (Josephine) Van Lieshout, Appleton, Thomas (Betty) Van Lieshout, Sturgeon Bay; sisters-in-law, Ann Harvey, Rural, Mary Jane Van Lieshout, Menasha, Ruth (Red) Emory, Texas, Katherine Cowling, Appleton; brother-in-law, Robert (Marlene) Kools, Appleton, Marlene (Tom) Kloiber, Kimberly, Paul (Bonnie) Gossens, Milwaukee, Tom (Margaret) Gossens, Appleton, JoAnn (Dave) Manley, Combined Locks, Jeanne (Don) Erdmann, Little Chute, Mary Ann (Ralph) Lamers, Kimberly; grandchildren, Mary Craven, Grant Gregory, Andrew (Cattleya) Gregory, Florida, Anne (Marcus) Mescher, and their children, Noah and Benjamin, Ohio, John and Allen Broughton, Georgia, Jake Kools, Colorado, and Hailey Kools, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or Xavier High School Scholarship Fund in Appleton would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Appleton. Family will receive visitors at 9:30 a.m. at church.
